Retelling stories can be a difficult task! This lesson targets retelling short stories, without pictures, using a graphic organizer (speech bubbles). Each student is instructed on how to retell a story by:
First: Tell about the details! Who/What/When/Where
Next: Tell about the problem in the story. What's wrong?
Last: Tell about the solution to the problem. How did the problem get fixed?
The first 10 slides help your student by putting guided clues to the retell in the speech bubble. The LAST 8 slides remove the prompts, so your student can learn how to retell independently. Each of the 18 stories provide relevant details, a problem and a solution in an easy to read format.
This lesson was designed for a teletherapy or digital platform. You can download it, and store it on your laptop, iPad or computer for use on a SMART BOARD device. Easy for a traveling therapist who is on the GO, or just to spice up your tabletop therapy with some technology! Students LOVE holding the iPad while retelling each story presented.
