WHY LILA AND JUAN LIKE CHRISTMAS (Interactive, CCSS, 34 PP) is an early reader publication using mostly sight words such as found in Fry, and many to most classroom or district sight word lists. The other few words have to do with Christmas and winter, e.g. mistletoe, piñata, snow. Such words are highlighted in yellow.
At the back of the reader is a glossary of the words along with the Spanish for them. This makes it handy for not only regular English first language students but also those of a Spanish language background.
There are also accompanying photos with text as seen in the accompanying thumbnail photos as well as some additional helpers:
