Simple WHY Questions
• Level 1: 324 cards with 2 multiple choice options
• Level 2: 324 cards with 3 multiple choice options
• Level 3: 324 cards with 4 multiple choice options

I created this activity because 2 of the kids on my caseload really struggle with answering simple WHY questions. I needed a wide variety of WHY questions to work on that would take me through the entire school year, so I created these.

Directions
• Print out which level you need (or all 3!) onto card stock
• Cut out
• Laminate
• Enjoy!

Activities
1. Answering the questions
• Give the child 10 laminated cards and a dry erase
marker
• Have them highlight their answer with the dry erase
marker (so the cards can be reused)
• Check their answers and pull out the ones they got
incorrect that they need to continue to practice and put
aside the ones they know
• You can have them explain their reasoning
• Cycle through new cards

2. Game
• Give each child 1 card and put the rest in a pile in the
center
• Go around clockwise and have each child take a turn
asking the question to the child on their left
• If the child is able to answer the question correctly, then
they get to take the card and put it in their “correct” pile
• If they don’t get it right then the next person to the left
can “steal” the card and try answering. Whoever
answers correctly gets the card
• The child asking the question pulls a new card once a
peer has answered correctly (each child should always
have a card) and it is another child’s turn to ask
• Once time is up the child with the most cards in their
“correct” pile wins!

3. Homework
• Print out the entire sheet that contains 9 questions
• Have the child take it home and circle their answers
