Product Description
This brief overview of the FAA “WINGS” pilot proficiency program includes mention of the new Airman Certification Standards (ACS) and may be used by CFIs and ground instructors as part of a “WINGS” pilot safety seminar; or by individual pilots and their instructors interested in learning about the WINGS program.

WINGS is a low-stress way to complete a Biennial Flight Review, and WINGS pilots are safer pilots.

The PowerPoint comes with settings that permit the 30 slides to run on a continuous loop in the “kiosk” mode, with each slide displayed onscreen for 10 seconds. Run it this way before the start of a WINGS seminar to give attendees general WINGS information while they are waiting for the main program to begin.

If you wish to present the slideshow with a speaker who will discuss WINGS in more detail, the included PDF version of the slides may be used. The PDF version also works best for individual viewing on a tablet.

Detailed, current information about WINGS and the FAA Safety Team (FAAST) may be found on the faasafety.gov site. Answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the new Airman Certification Standards (ACS) may be found at faa.gov. Notice that QR codes are included on several slides that direct your attention to faasafety.gov and the ACS for private pilot-airplane. My iPad recognizes these images instantly, but my Android phone won’t. So, if the QR codes won’t link up to the websites for you, just consider them to be added decoration and click on the embedded text links added to the PDF version.

I hope you find this slideshow to be a useful resource.

Sincerely,

Valerie Salven
Certificated Ground Instructor (CGI) and Instrument-Rated Private Pilot
