The first section of “Wonder” comes to an interesting (and certainly unexpected) end, as Auggie overhears Jack Will, who he considers a real friend, bad-mouthing him behind his back with Julian.
In this activity, students will write the imaginary conversation that would occur if Auggie actually confronted Jack by sending him a text message.
Through this activity, students will be challenged to write from two perspectives and to show authenticity, from two distinct voices/personalities. Students will also display both their inferencing and creative writing abilities.
This handout is a total of 2 pages and includes the "text" style blurs / boxes for students to write in.
*The second page can be photocopied multiplied times should students need more writing space.
Handout also includes introduction to the activity and clearly outlines the requirements / success criteria that must be present.
Document is in Word doc format, so you can modify should you desire to add/remove/change any aspect of the activity.
