Are you looking to give your kiddos extra practice with the concepts from the Wonders program? Here are nine centers that correspond with Start Smart Week 3 of the Wonders program and and a menu to give your students practice in an exciting, engaging way.

There are pages included with how I set my centers up and helpful hints to help you make centers run smoothly.

More Info on What's Included:

A centers menu for your students to keep track of what centers they have done and what still needs to be completed.

Segmenting Game-Students will play a game where they go around a board telling how many sounds are in simple words. The other students check that student's answer on the answer key, to determine if he or she may stay on that spot or go back.

Listening Comprehension-The students will listen to a story and draw and write what is happening in the story.

High Frequency Word Game-The students will color a picture using a key, while reading their high frequency words numerous times.

Sentence Frames-The students will complete sentences that have blanks using their own words. They will also illustrate one of the their sentences.

Fluency/Comprehension-The students will read a simple passage and answer questions about that passage.

Blending-The students will do a write the room activity, which allows them to practice blending sounds to make words. Once the student has determined what the word is, he or she will illustrate the word on a recording sheet.

Rhyming Memory-The students will take turns drawing cards (that include pictures, to aid in reading the words) and determining if the words rhyme or not.

Letter Names/Sounds Game-The students will play an engaging game where they will say the names or sounds of the letters while eating a small treat.

Expert Editor-Students will correct sentences that have mistakes. The focus this week is to use correct punctuation at the end of sentences, capitalize the beginning of sentences, and correct the misspelled high frequency words from the week. The students will then rewrite the sentences correctly.
