These are engaging vocabulary activities for any subject. Students are assigned five words to study, and they do a different activity for each one each day of the week. They may use words from their reading or vocabulary notebooks or from their science or social studies journals. The students will practice the 21st century skills of critical thinking and invention while also fulfilling the common core standards. The activities include synonyms and antonyms, visualizing definitions, making analogies, comparing words, and practicing figurative language. This is a unique and fun way for students to learn definitions of key words!
