Product Description

This is my 25th PPT in my World History offerings and the 2nd in Unit 6 (1900-Present.) This PPT discusses World War I from a world perspective, starting with rising tensions in Europe due to Nationalism and Imperialism, to tangled alliances. I then go into the crisis in the Balkans and the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand. When discussing the war I look at the trench system, the western and eastern front and different weapons used at the time. I then move into the war stretching beyond the continent with the Gallipoli Campaign, the attacks in Asia and Africa and then the U.S. There are many slides of propaganda posters so students can get exposure to the type of messaging the government was sending to its citizens. I then move into total war of course in the PPT on the end of the war and the Treaty of Versailles and the League of Nations and look at the legacy of the Great War.
