What you should know is these common Social Studies words that all middle schoolers should already know. This is just a way to re-introduce them to the current history lesson coming in this chapter.
The words are set up to help students without making them nervous and they are easy to print out and may be used over and over without someone getting the same question again and again. These "cards" are numbered and students are just asked two simple questions. One to simply describe the term and then to use it in a simple sentence as it might be used in this chapter.
My own students have always loved this because I don't make them do a lot of writing, just a little simple answering. It gets the job done, no matter how many times we use this in a chapter.
The sheets are divided into TEACHER COPY and STUDENT COPY. The teacher copy has the correct answer for each "card" and the student must write the correct answer plus a sentence. I do not require a long sentence just a simple one to get the point across.
These are easy to grade if you are grading. Most of the time, I am just checking to see if my students get the idea for each word. Good luck and happy research.
