In this set of 'What you should know' are words that middle schoolers need to know. As they learn these words they will be ready for the next few years of social studies.
The words are set up to help students without making them nervous or anxious and are easy to print out and distribute these 'try words'. They may be used over and over without someone getting the same words again and again. These "words" just ask three simple questions. One to simply describe the term and the other two to use a simple sentence as it might be used in this chapter and one as it might be used today.
My own students have always loved this because I don't make them do a lot of writing, just simple answering. It gets the job done, no matter how many times we use this in this and other chapters. The student must write the correct answer plus a sentence. I do not require a long sentence just a simple one to get the point across. It also works for "pre-test" review.
These are easy to grade if you are grading. Most of the time, I am just checking to see if my students get the idea for each word. Good luck
