The “Would You Rather” writing prompts promote more critical thinking opportunities for young children, and provide them with practice in writing constructive responses. In the classroom, focusing on the “why” component of the prompt will help learners support and explain their thoughts. This pack includes three options for your use.
Here are some suggestions:
1 - Project on your Promethean Board for whole group journal writing. This can be for morning work when the children come in to class, or during your center/work station time. You can also print off the colored prompts & display in your room for writing time.
2 – Print out the journal pages and create monthly books for the children to use.
3 – Print out the strips of paper, and have students cut and paste them into a notebook or journal. You can give each the two pages, and have them cut each day as you go.
These journal prompts are differentiated for different colored groups of students; however, blank ones are provided for you to use, as well.
