INSECTS: WRITING PROMPTS ABOUT INSECTS
is ideal to use with any classroom unit on insects! These writing prompts will help motivate your most reluctant writers.
In the first section, there are five photographs of insects with six writing prompts per photo to use as springboards to writing. Each photograph is accompanied by 21 words in a Word Box
to enhance vocabulary and to encourage creativity.
In the second section, there are five insect photograph prompts with questions for students to think about to get them started writing. A Word Box of correlated words is also included on each page.
The third section of Writing Prompts About Insects
is a set of Mix and Match Cards (56)
including six Story Elements. Students select one card from each element category to write about an insect.
Also included are Resources for Teachers
with rubrics to guide and evaluate writing and oral presentations as well as Follow-Up Topics for Insect Research, Ready-to-Post Insect Jokes, and Lists of Insects and Insect Vocabulary.
