In recreating my WWI unit in U.S. History, I was seeking to add a more "human" element when I came across a site portraying artwork from WWI. The site, listed in the document, explores the WWI through images/works of art, allowing students to see/feel the emotion connected with war.
The document that you are purchasing will ask students to work through 6 artworks of their choice in describing and reacting to the work, concluding with a few reflection questions.
I found that this was extremely helpful for my visual learners, and students who seek to internalize the impact of war through multiple forms of expression/art.
This could be used as a kick off to creating art surrounding modern conflict or war, looking first back in history at the first modern war.
