This activity has students walk around the classroom viewing different pieces of propaganda from WWI. I printed the propaganda pieces in color, laminated and numbered them around the classroom. Students use the worksheet to analyze the different pieces of propaganda, learning how to identify bias and the message of the propaganda posters. I have included 15 examples of of WWI propaganda that you may use or you can find other pieces that you want to use for this activity. I try to include as many different perspectives in the gallery walk as possible, to show all sides and points of view and how propaganda can be used to send out different messages to the public. After analyzing the propaganda, students are then asked to create their own.
