A complete WWI Unit, with a collection of resources and links to help students learn using workshop model. My students love this new way of doing Social Studies and Science and they are so proud to show their learning. Topics cover Major WWI Events: Assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, Sinking of Lusitania, Zimmerman Telegram, Treaty of Versailles; Propaganda; Modern Warfare: New Technology, Weaponry, Trench Warfare.
Research Based Workshop is the Newest "Best Practice" when it comes to teaching Social Studies and Science! Students have Choice and discover learning at their own pace.
Research Based Workshop believes in 4 key parts to every unit. Immerse - build curiosity, Investigate - search for information and discover answers, Coalesce - synthesize information and build curiosity, Take Public - Share Learning.
In this unit students will be immersed in information and then choose between 3 major WWI topics to really discover the learning for themselves. This Unit also includes a project with "How to" instructions and Lesson Guides. This allows the students to become responsible for their own learning as you conduct Mini-Lessons on the way to model the best research practices.
