Incorporating these American Girl movies into our social studies curriculum has turned out to be more fun than I thought!! I'm always looking for ways to integrate the curriculum and here is an example of taking a historical fiction movie (WWII) and pairing it with (reading) comprehension strategies.
I was looking for yet another way to get my students involved with this film. Here, they take on the role of the "movie goer" and the teacher as the movie critic. My kiddos did better on this than I thought they would-such creativity surfaced.
This bundle of fun requires students to:
**identify protagonist, antagonist, and foil characters
**use evidence to support character traits
**complete Venn Diagram
**include an alternate ending
