Looking for a great and FUN way to practice Fact Fluency? My kids LOVE this game. Every time I get it out, they literally cheer. :) It's a fun way to practice and build fact fluency.
Each player lines his or her playing pieces along the side of the plank, aligning them with the numbers written on the plank – one under each number.
Player 1 rolls the dice and adds the two numbers together. Then, he or she removes Player 2’s playing piece next to the number that matches that sum. Then the turn is over.
Player 2 rolls the dice and repeats the process.
Players continue taking turns, repeating this process over and over. If a player gets the same sum they have already made, they just don’t remove a piece on that turn.
The first player to collect all of the other player's cubes is the winner!
use recording sheet for accountability and/or a grade
use 3 dice (to practice 3 addends)
use playing cards instead of dice (if you don’t have 10 sided dice)
eliminate all odd numbers to win (to practice identifying even numbers)
eliminate all even numbers to win (to practice identifying odd numbers)
let the kids create the rules!
play in partners early in the year
roll one dice and do missing addends
