WALK THE ROOM MATH is an engaging series of math packs developed to provide primary grade students with focused practice on a variety of popular math topics, such as counting, addition, subtraction, true and false equations, place value, telling time, and geometry. These math packs can be used in any order, although some are designed with a seasonal theme, such as winter.


This 26-page pack contains a set of 10 “Plane Shapes Kids” cards. This set is a great way to provide your students with practice and review identifying plane shapes and describing their attributes. These cards provide students with a meaningful purpose to be out of their seats as they WALK THE ROOM doing MATH! Hang the cards eye level for your students in random spots on the walls around your classroom. Students WALK THE ROOM with their own pencil and a recording sheet attached to a clipboard. More than one student can participate in these activities at the same time and can begin with any card where no one is working. The Walk the Room Math Packs in this series can be considered as Math Centers for the walls of your classroom!

The special features of the packs in this series include:

(a) header/caption card(s) for your wall display; (b) an “I can …” statement card; (c) a set of “kid-friendly” wall task cards; and (d) a corresponding recording sheet. Some packs include support materials, like ten-frames, number charts 1-100/1-120; and character cards to enhance your wall display. Some packs include suggestions for manipulative materials like small clocks with movable hands that you may wish to make available to your students.
