This package is a Read-A-Thon style program that does not use money. Instead of money as a motivating factor, the teacher uses Wally the Bookworm. Students read a work, fill out a round review form that makes up Wally's body, and the teacher puts the review form on the wall once the student finishes. As the students read, Wally grows allowing the students to see the fruits of their labors, and allowing the teacher to keep track of who has been reading. This program could be very useful for AR programs as well. I've been doing this with various students for the past six years and it is great for a variety of settings.
This package includes signs, Wally's head and body part/review forms, a reading certificate for the students, a reading log/vocabulary list designed for interactive notebooks, and a document drafted by me that includes directions on how the program works, suggestions from my experience, and some post Read-A-Thon activities.
Aside from some adaptations the teacher might like to make, this program is ready to go with some minor preparation (printing, laminating, cuting).
