王美英的问题 is a short story intended for beginning students of Chinese. The vocabulary and grammar in this story are aligned with the first five chapters of the popular textbook Integrated Chinese so that the story can be used in the classroom or independently to supplement that text. The text includes only six unique characters not found in the first five chapters of Integrated Chinese. Those unfamiliar words are defined in a vocabulary section to accompany the text.
This packet includes four versions of the story – one in simplified characters, one in traditional characters, one in pinyin, and one in simplified characters annotated with pinyin. This will allow teachers to choose the version that best suits their students’ needs. Modified annotations can also be produced.
Included with this product are four versions of the story in different formats, a vocabulary list, a reading guide to help students comprehend the story, two grammar exercises focusing on sequencing using 以后／以前, and suggestions for post-reading activities.
