This is a bundle of three of my TPT Wants vs. Needs activities, combined for a discount of 40%! The unit includes the Wants vs. Needs Classroom Market Activity, File Folder Activity, and Picture Worksheet.
Wants vs. Needs Classroom Market Activity
In this classroom activity on wants vs. needs, students will choose goods to "purchase" from a classroom market prepared by the teacher. Students will have a set budget to spend on whatever they want, but they must choose wisely between wants and needs.
The activity also doubles as a useful math activity, as students calculate the total purchase amount and must keep their spending on a budget.
This includes a full lesson plan with preparation instructions, class discussion notes and questions, and a worksheet for students to use in the class market.
Wants vs. Needs File Folder Activity
This is a fun file folder activity for early-finishers to reinforce wants vs. needs. Students will classify images as either wants or needs. Some images could be classified either way, so ask students to explain their decisions.
Wants vs. Needs Picture Worksheet
On this worksheet, students will draw pictures of items that are wants and items that are needs within different categories. It is great for reinforcing the concept of wants vs. needs, particularly for younger students, and is an excellent introduction to an elementary economics unit.
