This PowerPoint presentation examines America's war in Afghanistan. It begins with a brief examination of the events immediately after 9/11 and quickly proceeds to the beginning of Operation Enduring Freedom in October, 2001. It then looks at the fall of the Taliban and the establishment of a democratic government. It then deals with America's policy of "extraordinary rendition" and the use of torture. It also examines the resurgence of the Taliban and efforts made by the Obama administration to fight them back. It concludes by suggesting that the story of American involvement in Afghanistan is not yet over and that it's still too soon to determine whether the cost of America's efforts has been worth it. An examination of the events of 9/11 would be helpful in preparation for this presentation.
