My powerpoint presentations are typically short and sweet. You will not see slides with an overwhelming amount of information. I use these presentations after my kids have had the chance to explore the topic through text and other resources.
This 17 slide presentation will give your students the essence of the causes and effects of the War of 1812. It begins with the Embargo Act of 1807, then discusses the causes (trade interference, impressment, Native American/British alliance) of the war and its legacies (patriotism, manufacturing increases, Native American resistance, and the desire to move into the American frontier). In my classroom, we typically would use this for cornell note writing in their history notebook. These notes are often used to assist with writing prompts, projects, and study material for tests.
This is part of a War of 1812 bundle in my store! The bundle has much more... an illustrated timeline, the story of the Star Spangled Banner, a primary source reading about Tecumseh, and a note-taking guide. Much more for less.
Thanks for stopping by!
