Tired of supposed "learning" games that your students can't play because some haven't mastered the content? Would you rather have them play a game that teaches instead of assesses?
War of the Planets is such a game. Trick your students into studying by having them play! It's based on the high/low-card card game of War, with a planetary twist. See the Preview for the full set of Game Instructions and some example cards.
First of all, it doesn't bog them down with memorizing facts: it focuses on ranking the planets by their characteristics. Do they need to memorize the diameter of Jupiter? No! They can ask Siri for that. But, they do need to know that it is the biggest, has the most gravity, and the most moons!
Here's the planetary characteristics your students will learn while playing. You can choose for them to focus on as many or as few as you need!
