This Warning Notice is a way to give a student a warning while you keep teaching. Sometimes teachers give students an office referral for minor infractions and end up looking as if they can't manage their classroom.
Before implementing this strategy, go over it with your students. This document is completely editable, so you can add/delete the list accordingly. Inform students that if they display the behavior that is written on the Notice, they will be given a Warning Notice. Simply place it on their desk and keep teaching.
DO NOT accept the Warning Notice without their signature. This gives the student complete ownership of their inappropriate behavior. Once you have received the completed Warning Notice, sign it and file it in the student's folder.
I inform my class that if they receive 3 Warning Notices in one month, they will automatically get an Office Referral. My principal LOVES this form of documentation. She does not have to come to me and ask why I wrote a student up because the student signed it themselves.
