Here are some reading comprehension questions for Irving's short story, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow". They are pretty basic, recall, low-level questions. I do not actually collect them for a grade or even demand that the students complete them. But, I do like to give them to the students at the start of the unit. Often times, with questions like these, they can help the students with some of the more basic concepts or premises they will encounter during their reading and provide them with a foundation for deeper analysis.
