Here you will find 3 different math activities based on information about Washington state. All three use real information about the state allowing students to get a sense of how tall mountains are and the driving distance and/or driving time between cities.
The first includes locating the major Mountain in Washington State and placing them on a map and then answering 3 math problems based on the elevation of these mountains (3 word problems).
The second one includes locating 8 cities on a map of Washington and then calculation the time to drive from one location to another based on actual estimated times (6 word problems using elapsed time).
The third involves using a chart to calculate milage from one city to another in washington state (7 word problems).
PLEASE Let me know if you find any errors, so I can fix them. I have gone over and over these but you know how sometimes no matter how many times you read over something, an error can still get missed.
