This 26 page environmental based lesson plan introduces students to the concept of waste redistribution, encouraging them to become better stewards of the environment. Students analyze the waste they generate at lunch time and redistribute it into five different categories: compost, recycling, upcycling, food bank, and trash. This lesson plan includes hands on activities and reproducible work sheets and can be easily adapted for small and large group settings. The activities are appropriate for elementary, middle school, and high school, as well as homeschoolers. This flexible lesson plan can be modified to a one day, one week, or year long activity.
