During this activity, your students will be predicting how many water bottles you (the teacher) can flip. When I did this with my class we had 20 water bottles so the students guessed how many I could flip out of 20. They will then create a tally/frequency table, dot plot, and a stem and leaf plot using the prediction data.
Extension: Students can then be given a water bottle on their own and can see how many times out of 20 they land it. They can collect data in the “water bottle flip individual data collection table.” This information can then be graphed as a class as well.
