The “C.E.R Labs Bundle Water Cycle” contains five labs for middle school, aligned to the NGSS (MS-ESS2-4 Develop a model to describe the cycling of water through Earth's Systems driven by energy from the sun and the force of gravity). By using these student-center activities you will be able implement inquiry-based labs using claim, evidence and reasoning. You will be able to reinforce and engaged your students by creating a model of changes of state in the water cycle, model evaporation, melting, condensation and calculating acidity. Finally, you be will able to present these labs to your class by using the version of these activities in power point.

*Pre-lab Activity- Water Cycle : Informational text analysis and think-pair-share activity. (four pages)
Lab. 1- Reconstruct a model of the water cycle: Your students will be constructing a physical model and recreation the water cycle.
Lab. 2 – How Evaporation occurs? Your students will demonstrate how evaporation occurs when a liquid turns into a gas and how temperature affects the rate of evaporation.
Lab. 3 - Making Drops of Rain : Your students will build a simple model to show how raindrops form in the atmosphere
Lab. 4 - How surface colors affect ice melting: Students will be able to understand how heat interacts with dark or light colors.
Lab 5- Investigating Substances’ acidity: Your students will be able to test various substances to determine their level of acidity and learn about acid rain.
Each inquiry based lab contains :
Title, objective, background knowledge, research, question, claim, prediction, observation, materials, a detail procedure, evidence, reasoning, diagrams, chart, graphs and conclusion.
