The 5E model of teaching science is a way that students can construct meaning of new information by understanding experiences and new ideas through inquiry.
This unit is an investigation about the water cycle based on the question: Do we drink the same water our grandparents did 50 years ago?
Students will follow through the 5Es of the investigation by engaging in the question, exploring through a jar water cycle experiment, explaining the experiment with vocabulary, elaborating on that vocabulary by making a foldable and proving knowledge of the investigation and vocabulary with a ticket out the door.
This activity includes:
Detailed lesson plans on all 5 parts of the investigation
Photos of the experiment
Foldable of the water cycle that can be used in an interactive notebook or as a stand alone foldable
Ticket out the door (2 choices)
