I developed this lab after being really disappointed that I didn't see any good water cycle labs online that allowed students to see multiple real-world processes of the water cycle. Students move through 7 lab stations where they will observe/experiment with the processes of the water cycle: evaporation, sublimation, freezing, melting, condensation, transpiration and run-off. (Some stations show more than one process). Students must identify the process(es) and explain evidence how they know which processes occurred using specific vocabulary such as solid, liquid, gas, etc.
This lesson plan includes:
-Powerpoint to introduce the lab
-Notebook presentation to introduce lab
-student lab sheet
-teacher directions for lab set-up with materials list
-pictures of each station
