This assignment is designed to accompany the traditional unit on water (worksheets and/or bookwork, etc.), specifically the distribution and availability of water sources, water uses and misuses, conservation, and pollution. There are two main parts to this activity. The first part is an introductory "quiz" student groups do just to see where they are at with some basic knowledge coming into the unit. There are also some fun trivia fact sites regarding water that students find interesting and may decide to use for the third activity part. The second part is similar to a Webquest where students use their texts and the provided Web site links to answer questions. There are 3 different sections, each having their own questions and resource links. The third, final, part of the unit assignment is for a group of students to create either a children's book or video/movie on the topics learned in the unit. There are some helpful ideas or hints, but for the most part students are encouraged to be creative in how they want to create the learning tool in either the book or video/movie format.
