Use visual cues and an adorable watercolor Emoji scale to describe and discuss voice levels and expectation in your classroom!
Included in this resource:
I use all three of these in my classroom!
I hang the posters up on the whiteboard and beside them I place touch lights. I light up the voice level we expect of each other for a given activity.
I put the "Voice Check" chart on the opposite wall of our classroom as a reminder for students sitting further away from the whiteboard.
I use the mini-circles as nonverbal reminders for students who need a voice check while they are working. I print several of each out and slide the expected voice level circle in front of groups of students to remind them what is expected while we work. I also hold up cards while I am conferring to remind the class to stay quiet during workshop times.
