Learn about waterfalls around the world and travel to see (and play in) some right here in Indiana! This study guide highlights 10 beautiful waterfalls in Indiana that you can visit. Take a summer adventure and see a new waterfall every week, or leisurely visit them at your own pace. Either way, you can use this study guide to document your fun and what you have learned. It includes mapping skills, drawing, creative writing, research, and math. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!!
How to use the Study Guide:
This activity book was created for kids to record what they are learning as they visit and play in creeks and waterfalls. Included are several activities, so you and your kids can choose which ones are best suited to their individual personality, learning style, and ability.
MAP OF INDIANA
There are 2 maps of Indiana. Choose the one without stars, if your child wants to use his mapping skills to find the waterfalls on his own. Or, use the map with the waterfalls already marked if you child prefers to simply write in the names (or cut and paste the names from the next page).
MAP OF THE WORLD AND OF THE USA
Use these pages to record your findings as you and your child search the internet for beautiful waterfalls around the world and here is the US. Print off pictures to include, too! You may want to print off a "Picture" page for each waterfall, or just have several pictures on one page.
INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW
Sit down with your child and search the internet for answers.
Print off the activity sheets your children will use. Your family may want to use all the pages, or just one or two per waterfall. Or, maybe you will mix it up each week. Each family will have a different way of using these pages! You could also print off one book and have each child complete one of the activity pages. Find what works, but most of all have fun!
We found it best to print the pages and take it to a print shop to have it spiral bound, which cost under $5.
