A one page follow up for each of the 13 chapters in Waterman's Boy, by Susan Sharpe. A great read for 3rd-6th graders about a young boy who wants to follow in his father's footsteps, but the Chesapeake Bay is in great danger. Students will be entertained by the boy's courage as he helps a scientist solve a local pollution mystery, all while learning about the ecosystem. Unit includes basic reading comprehension skills, such as recalling facts, inferencing, predicting, using context clues, making connections, etc. Some pages also focus on the science information taught in the text.
