Watersheds are a critical part of communities. They provide drinking water, they provide habitat for animals, they provide recreational opportunities. When they become polluted the effects can be devastating. With this activity students are presented with 10 scenarios and they need to come up with solutions to clean up the problems. They will also create a map of their imagined community showing the solutions they came up with. Point source and non-point source pollution types are included. Many of the scenarios may apply to the town they live in which can allow for real-world connections between curriculum and their lives. Each scenario is on its own page in the PDF file. Use as many as you like or use them as a template to create your own.
