Topics included are:
-Waves vocabulary
-Types of waves (transverse, longitudinal, and surface)
-Parts of waves (crest, trough, compression, rarefaction)
-Properties of waves (amplitude, wavelength, frequency, and speed)
-Interactions of waves (reflection, refraction, diffraction, and interference)
-Editable template to add your own questions
-Pictures and clip art for your Visual/ESL/ELL learners!

This activity is arranged so that when it is printed the questions and answers are in order for the teacher to place around the room at their preference.

Circuit Instructions

1. Print out all of the slides (cardstock or regular paper will be fine). You may choose to laminate them for durability.

2. Randomly place the signs around the room (mix them up, do not place them all in the order they print out). I usually tape mine to the wall, but placing them on the table will work also.

3. Students may begin at any location. They will read the question on the sign and find the answer on another sign around the room. I have my students write the question in their notebook or on their paper as well.

4. When students find the answer, they will write the answer to the question.

5. Students will then read and write the next question that is located at the bottom of the sign and then proceed to find the answer around the room.

6. This process continues until the students have completed all of the questions and answers.

7. If completed correctly, the students should START and FINISH the activity at the same sign (make a complete “circuit”). There are 20 signs, so in my larger classes I usually start each student at a different sign to avoid overcrowding at one sign.

8. This activity works very well as a review when all of the concepts have been covered. I like to use these circuits throughout the year to “refresh” previous concepts with my students. Enjoy!
