Do you use exit or entrance tickets in your science class? If so, these summary slips are perfect for your waves unit!
Each page asks students to summarize what they learned by answering an essential question in Schaffer paragraph form: "How does knowledge of _________ waves help us understand our world better and improve the quality of our lives?" Includes sound, visible light, x-rays, gamma rays, microwaves, infra-red, and ultraviolet light.
Students are given lined space to write their answers. I've formatted two slips to a page to save paper. Cut in half and hand-out to students at the end of a lecture, lab, or reading assignment to assess if they understood the real-life application of the waves lesson.
Great way to incorporate writing into the physical science classroom!
