This is a cut and paste activity I use after completing our waves unit - GREAT for kinesthetic learners!
Students cut and sort the 32 descriptions and examples of waves to create a graphic organizer. A graphic organizer idea is included at the top of the sheet or you adapt this to fit another type of graphic organizer. Students sort descriptions into the particular standard through which the content was covered.
I use this activity as part of an interactive notebook. It helps with my average and below average learners to practice wave types and characteristics. This could serve as a formative assessment.
SAMPLE DESCRIPTIONS: Doppler Effect, Sound waves travel fastest through a solid, Bats and dolphins use echolocation, ROYGBIV, EM spectrum, Pencil in a cup of water
