This Reader's Theater was designed to get kids practicing the Zeno words. The 107 most used sight words. The script is for four students. It is designed for students who are on a kindergarten to first grade reading level. On the first page is a list of the words used the ones in bold are Zeno words. A boy is called Bob. His dog and his dad are also Bob. This means that there are 3 Bobs in the story. The boy’s friends talk about getting a cat or a bird and calling it Bob as well.
I use reader's theaters to encourage my students to practice fluency. It is a fun way to do something that they need. The lower a student's level, the harder it is to motivate them to practice which is why I have written these lower level scripts. Most of my scripts are in black and white so they photo copy easily. The problem with many other reader's theaters is that students spend a lot of time waiting for their part. When you have a small group they get more practice in and less off task behaviors take place.
My name is Melanie Whitesides but my store name is Wonbyone and I hope that your students enjoy this script as much as mine did. Let me know how things go!
We are Bob!
