This Earth Day unit is jam packed with meaningful activities to do with your students on or around Earth Day! This unit covers math, language arts, and science concepts. Included are:

*3Rs Posters (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle)
*The Earth Day Challenge- this is a fun activity for students to do with their families at home. There are 15 different activities on a chart- families need to complete at least 10 of the 15 activities and then return the chart to school for a certificate of completion!
*Recycle It! Sorting Activity- students sort pictures of objects into different groups: paper, plastic, glass, and metal. You can use this as a center or individual activity. After completing the sort, students turn the data into a bar graph and answer questions about the data.
*"Handprint on the Earth Writing"- students write about how they can leave their handprint on the Earth and then paint their hand and stamp it in the box!
*How to Plant a Seed Writing- students use a graphic organizer to brainstorm at least 4 steps for planting a seed. Then, they can use the publishing paper to complete their how-to writing.
*Earth Day Cause and Effect- students each get their own card with a cause on it. They use the cause/effect practice page to write down the cause and then brainstorm what the effect would be. There are 9 different cause cards included and the cause/effect student page.
*Earth Day Fun Facts- this is a set of 12 cards that have interesting facts about the Earth and recycling on them. Just print, laminate, and place them on a ring to share with your students throughout the day/week!
