Kids love the zany humor of Robert Munsch! This package is designed to help your primary students read, enjoy, and get to know the literary devices that Robert Munsch uses when writing his books. In other words, kids will learn what makes a “ Munsch a Munsch”! These open ended activities can be used with just about any Robert Munsch book, since he uses the same literary devices in many of his books. Once they’re “Munsch experts”, kids can then write their own “Munsch style” stories.
* 5 color teaching posters to introduce the literary devices in Robert Munsch books. The literary devices are repetition, exaggeration, every day events, onamatopoeia, and humor. Great for building an anchor chart!
* a student response booklet for kids to write and draw about what was funny, what parts were repeated, what was exaggerated, etc.
* writing papers for kids to plan and write their own story, using some of the same literary devices as Robert Munsch.
* teacher tips
