One of my favorite things to do with the kids in my class is to allow them to work independently or in a small group on newly acquired skills! It is so fun to watch them work!
Here is one of the ways that I would help my kids work on measuring items. I set the activity up by saying how I always measure things before I buy them for my house (bookcases, chairs, etc.) to be sure they'll fit!
You post the numbered measuring station cards around the room by the appropriate item. The kids will each get a measuring mission packet so that they each get a chance to use their rulers!
You can have them measure in inches, centimeters, 1/2 inches...etc. It is up to you!
Included in this bundle, you have:
-Measuring Mission packet (student handout)
-Colorful Station Signs
This is a lot of fun and it shows them some real-world ways to use their new skills, or id great for a fun review!
Happy Teaching! -Mrs. Walshie :)
