Elementary Music Teachers are calling this "awesome!" and "an amazing piece of work!"
When you listen to the preview with voice and orchestra, imagine the experience of singing to a full balanced orchestra. The CD contains tracks for all 4 Movements to achieve this incredible experience!
There are 3 downloads in my store for this program. One is for free. Each has a different preview of a whole movement with voice cues. The zip file for the MP3's includes separate files without vocal cues for a full, balanced orchestra.
If children really want something, they will beg and keep asking until they get it. Sometimes it works out, and sometimes it doesn’t. The choices they make in dealing with this dilemma are classic for young children and the exact things that make all parents snicker under their breaths.
This is a 25-minute children’s musical program in four movements, complete with a full orchestra accompaniment. Included on this site are the complete vocal score, MP3’s with piano voice cues on the right and orchestra on the left, MP3’s for Movements 1 and 4 which are split into 4 sections to make your rehearsals easier, and MP3’s of just the full and balanced orchestra for performance.
It is very different, great fun, and as easy as I could make it while employing some pizzicato, a 4-part round, and interesting melodies.
Movement 1 is interesting in its mood changes and pizzicato.
Movement 2 is a waltz that people can’t resist dancing to.
Movement 3 is a take-off on “Three Blind Mice,” in a minor key with a shortened melody, but complete with the Round.
Movement 4 is full of mood changes, complete with a Cha-Cha that has a unique melody.
I saw John Denver perform at Ravinia years ago. He was backed up by Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He wasn’t used to the orchestra accompaniment and kept turning around to look at them saying, “Far out!” Hopefully, this program will bring a similar experience to your young students. Be prepared for your next program. They just might ask what happened to the orchestra!
See the zip file for the music to hear a preview of the 2nd Movement - voice and orchestra.
