Getting students in the early grades to understand and identify
who/what the author and illustrator are is a major challenge. I
began to use separate pages during writer’s workshop to clarify
what we do when we are Mr./Miss Author/ , or Mr./Miss Illustrator.
Guess what? It is working! In this set are four anchor posters for easy reference when teaching about what an author's job/illustrator's job is. Also included are separate pages for the illustrations and the writing. This is key because it helps the student to visualize him/herself as the illustrator on the illustration page, and him/herself as the author on the lined author's page. Both pages can be printed two-sided, but may need to be printed separate when illustrators are using glue or paint! :) This set is also easy on your expensive colored ink supply!
