-Colored organizer differentiating between why temperature values are different in different cities (close by and far away). Over 12 different variables are addressed. The organizer matches definition description, and applicable image. Variables include:

-Latitude
-Season
-Elevation (Altitude)
-Land versus Water
-Air Masses and Wind Direction
-Maritime Influences
-Time of Day
-Urban Versus Rural
-Various Weather Conditions (Humidity, Dewpoint, Cloudiness, Precipiation, etc.)
-Students can evaluate and/or BUILD a fictional continent. This fictional continent consists of 6 cities with similar and different characteristics. Students then arrange each city from warmest to coolest then assigning temperature terminology, and the dominant variables responsible for the possible temperature.

Very special cut and paste, Smartboard, or Velcro and laminate activity that challenges many learners based on how the information is presented. The instructor decides the difficulty! This has been used science day with high marks and acclaim.

WIDE RANGE OF ABILITY LEVELS!

This has been used as a pre-class, lab/activity, study guide, review, and assessment. This is an effective teaching tool one on one, in small groups, and as a class when using a Smart Board/Promethean Board/Projection.
