Stormy weather ahead! This package is a TERRIFIC resource for reading informational text, writing about reading, adding details to writing, vocabulary studying, using nonfiction text features, hands-on cutting and gluing, and more!

Students read about a weather topic, write about it, complete a text feature related activity, use a table of contents and glossary, and add to their work with decorations and illustrations. In the end, they have a Weather Booklet! Best of all, they will have practiced using nonfiction text features in an authentic, fun format!

This set is not meant to be a comprehensive weather study- it’s a reading/writing unit to enhance your study of the weather and provide cross-curricular work to best use your precious classroom time.

Included: Set of 12 Posters featuring Nonfiction Text Features: Table of Contents, Bold Print, Caption, Close Up, Cross Section, Fact Box, Photograph, Illustration, Map, Graph, Glossary, and Index.

Reading selections are provided with the following titles.

  • How Do Hurricanes Form?

Reading selections are provided in two versions- one decorated and one just black/white.

Students booklet covers in 9 versions, some with color and some black/white. The student booklet is in black/white.
