Product Description
GREAT INTRO TO WEATHER and the ATMOSPHERE!

Pairs wonderfully with the plethora of weather activities found on my TPT.

8, yes 8 different activities on atmospheric composition (gases), layer differentiation, and atmospheric layer assessments.

Applicable to many aged and leveled learners!

Also presented with color-coded answer assistance.

Activities include:

-Cross section diagrams of the atmosphere addressing the following layers: troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, and the exosphere. Objects to be placed accurately are: satellites, outer space, radiosondes, weather balloons, fighter planes, commercial planes, civilian planes, parachutes, mountains, clouds, thunderstorms.

-Terminology and matching images for each layer

-Atmospheric gases presented 3 ways

-Atmospheres of different planets: Mars, Venus, and Earth

Layers sectioned off and analyzed as a whole

Detailed description of each layer

This works well for any level but is GREAT for special education students or college prep learners that need an alternative assessment and may not be great at traditional labs.

Also, perfect for homeschooling!

WIDE RANGE OF ABILITY LEVELS! The application to a diverse body of learners, whether it be age or ability level, is predicated on the fact that the instructor determines the difficulty level of the whole activity or part of the activity based on what information is given and what information is not as well as how verbal questions are presented to the student(s).

This is a thorough and DYNAMIC activity that covers a ton of information about the atmosphere. This has been used as a pre-class, lab/activity, study guide, review, and assessment. This is an effective teaching tool one on one, in small groups, and as a class when using a Smart Board/Promethean Board/Projection.

A guaranteed hit all around!

A great addition to your meteorology teaching library.

Within the classroom, this activity has been consistently very successful and acclaimed by students in grades 3rd – 9th within multiple types of schools - public, private, and charter.

Applicable to many state science assessments and benchmarks.

Has been applied to state mandated North Carolina end of year tests for science in grades 5 and 8.

Even used by teachers in New York State as a preparation for the Earth Science Grade 9 Regents Exam.
