This is a culminating performance task at the end of a weather map unit. Students are asked to either interpret a weather map or create a weather map using the symbols, then prepare a news presentation to perform for the class (or videotape). Contents include a set of directions for interpreting the map, a set of directions for creating a map, a page of symbols, a blank map (the blank map is a tad blurry so you may find a better version), and a scoring rubric. It is pretty open ended but gives the students the opportunity to show what they know, and they have a blast doing it! Correlates with GA fourth grade science standards.
